Ending on a positive note, we ended up just using the room to crash into bed at 8.30pm and left early in the morning each day as the island is so beautiful. The hotel was nice with a big room, a well equipped bathroom and a great view on the rooftop of the island at breakfast. Another point is the banging dance music that is played from around 9pm till 2am - again, if I was younger I would probably have been at the bar but this time I was just trying to sleep! The music comes from a bar next to the accommodation so you hear everything. As I said, if this room was reasonably priced (under £30) I would have been ok. We think the room used to be a store room and the attached toilet to be an old urinal as it had that 'pub male toilet' smell in there. I am happy to slum it occasionally and chalk it up to travelling experience but for £100 (one hundred GBP) I would have expected a lot more than a tiny room, no fridge, very old furniture (just a chest of drawers). Unfortunately the room simply does not match the price.

i def will come back with my friends, i recommend max 2 nights-3 nights we have book a garden view room. 7-there is not that many mosquitos at night, like another parts of the island so is perfect to relax and dont get attack 8-fresh and a/c which is so convinience 9-planty space in the room 10-they have a bar with swings -overall for the price you pay and the place, is a great deal. Holbox hotel nestled on the beachfront with a great central location. 6-the beds are confortables, we usually make a short trip because i live in cancun, so we slept until 11am the first morning. Holbox Hotel Casa Maya in Holbox, is an excellent hotel for people who like. You’ll be sure to have a wonderful time!.I have been in holbox at least 7 times adn i always try to choose new hotel and this time i give the chance to casa maya, -the good- 1-we save money in taxis because everything is in walking distance (even the famous hammocks) 2-there is a beach area part of the hotel that youj can use and get relaxed 3-there are commun areas, were you can stay after yuour check out )like using restroom and showers 4-the staff is super friendly (and polite, i was affraid with the comments i have read here, but they even help us with the suitcases which where 2 carry on bags) 5-at night there is beach club next to the hotel, where you can have fun, and you dont hear anything from your room.
